I think understanding the definition of equity really helps us meet each student where they are. Helping students reach their goals is of utmost importance.

Creating opportunities for critical thinking through group work, projects, and discussions are all great ways to keep students engaged. It is really important for students to be able to approach a problem by listening to their peers and being open minded.

Rubrics are really helpful in communicating expectations for students. They eliminate the element of surprise in grading. I love the idea of posting examples of good work to help students set a standard for their own work.

Attitudes can be a challenge in online learning. Providing students with clear expectations and activities that promote community and engagement is important.

I learned that student centered learning is more engaged and collaborative. I intend to use a variety of strategies in class from group work to case studies and problem solving to keep students engaged.

I learned that it's important to identified dependent or disengaged learners and take extra measures to engage them with the material and online community.

Synchronous discussions should be limited to smaller groups.

Getting know your students individually is just as important in an online learning environment as an in-person one.

There are many ways an instructor can organize access to information for students.

Use a variety of teaching methods to acomodate differed styles of student learning.
