Intrisic motivators are things that students enjoy so they are more likely to complete those tasks. Extrensic motivators are awards or prizes.

You can give the student autonomy by giving them a choice of an assignemnt. Example: Written essay, project, presentation.

All of this information is very helpful in learning how to communication and teach different generations of students. 

I think its very important to learn that each student has their own way of understanding and learning. It is impertive that the instructor can acknowledge that and mold their teaching style to each student. 

I have never really thought of our activities that we have in place as gamification activities. I think using these activities really does get the student involved in the coursework.
