Activity
Hi, Marilyn.
I have been developing an instructional model over the last 30 years, which I would like to share with you. Cannot attach it here, but my e-mail is kent.vancleave@faculty.aiuonline.edu. I focus on teaching students process awareness, and build a mental model of their learning and performance process skills and deficits, from which I offer formative feedback.
I have been teaching / facilitating at the college level for 30 years, 13 of that online. I have practiced reflective teaching, such that I reflect on my ongoing experiences for what they can teach me about being a better instructor. I found this course to be surprisingly fresh, and surprisingly useful, particularly the fourth module - Online Communication Strategies. Although I had already arrived at most of those techniques, the frameworks this module provided will strengthen my practice by making it more reflective and more systematic.
Using AutoCorrect in MS Office to Generate Better Feedback
Greetings, Jack. Neither macros nor quick links. Autocorrect - see the slides at the link above. What are quick links?
Just want to share with anyone my practice of using AutoCorrect to save feedback comments that I use often. I define short character strings to produce large amounts of information content. When I write feedback, I do so in MS Word, and I am able to generate a lot of useful feedback with fewer keystrokes. For example,
When I type aparef, autocorrect changes it to read

This is not restricted to feedback on APA format; I can also… >>>

This study leaves off the most important and most effective learning method I have encountered - SQ3R. I have a presentation on SQ3R at Slideshare, which anyone is welcome to download and share. http://www.slideshare.net/avanclea/presentations
