I found this training to be very important and informative especially since I'm kind of the new girl with adult education. I found that its important to have content relates with adult learners, whereas with the high school students it didn't really matter as long as the discussion was interesting. Adults focus on the "what's in it for me" aspect of learning, which I enjoy!

How do you accomodate students with dislexia, I've tried to test them in different setting to allow them to read to themselves,I've also tried to read the test to the individual. I know they know the material, the issue comes from spelling. I'm talking simple spelling words such as "this", "mean" and so on. I want some advise on how to help them at such a late stage in their life, I believe that they can learn how to do it, but how else can I possibly help?
As a first year instructor with adult students I found that while reading this module, I have incountered a lot of these students. I have had the talkative, inattentive, blaming others and even the cry-babies! I've had to learn how much attention to give to the different varieties of students. But this module was really helpful!
Discussion Comment
How do you initally engage students in the learning process when the instructor is younger than the students, or the student and instructor are around the same age group(i.e. late 20's)?
