It is interesting that certain individuals have more protections than others. The FERPA guidelines state that an alumni is no longer protected by FERPA, yet if a student wants access to a president's information, they must receive consent first. This just shows you that laws are subjective, and it is always important to lean towards the side of caution espcially when it comes to privacy rights of individuals.

It is essential to get student permission before sharing any of their personal information.

Student privacy is important and should be respected by all instituion employees. Do not share private information and be careful not to disclose any information that is protected by FERPA.

I learned the different between dating violence and sexual violence. Also, I learned the definition of consent.

This portion of the training discussed the grievance procedures. The Title IX coordinator is responsible for investigating the grievance and then reporting it to the necessary authorities. Moreover, the Coordinator may need to conduct a hearing to determine if the student or employee should be removed from the institution. The most important thing during this prcoess is to be fair and equitable with all parties involved.

The Title IX Coordinator is responsible for training the staff on the importance of sexual harassment and sexual violence prevention. Within this spectrum, the Coordinator needs to train staff on how to respond effectively when a sexual harrassment or sexual violence situation becomes apparent. It is in the best interest of all involved to help support the victim through their process and to make them feel safe and secure within the college.

Title IX was created to protect students and employees from sexual harassment and other unwanted situations. Thanks to Title IX people can feel like they are protected and safe within their educational and work environment.

Perhaps in the language they are using in their online posts.
