I learned that my role in supporting students with disabilities includes understanding legal obligations, providing necessary accommodations, and fostering an inclusive learning environment. I will apply this by ensuring students receive equal opportunities and addressing their needs with care and respect.

The accommodation process is essential in ensuring students with disabilities have equal access to education. It involves identifying the student's needs and then getting with disability services to implement accommodations that enable equal participation. I plan to apply this by helping ensure that students have the support they need and understanding how to facilitate effective communication between students, faculty, and support services.

I’ve learned that students with disabilities, such as learning disabilities, or psychological conditions, can face barriers that impact their ability to access and succeed in educational settings. 

I’ve learned that institutions have legal obligations under laws like the ADA and Section 504 to provide accommodations for students with disabilities to ensure equal access to education. I intend to apply this knowledge by advocating for inclusive practices in my future work to support students' needs and promote accessibility.

FERPA protects student privacy and controls who can access their records. I’ll follow these rules to keep student information safe and share it only when allowed.

FERPA teaches the importance of keeping student records private while allowing some sharing in certain cases, like emergencies. I will follow the rules to protect student info and only share it when allowed.

FERPA compliance ensures that student's records are protected, granting them the right to access and control the disclosure of their information. I will apply this knowledge by sharing it only when permitted and following institutional policies to maintain confidentiality.

I plan to ensure compliance by sharing records only with authorized parties, and understanding when consent is required for disclosure.

Prevention and education are critical in having a campus culture that prioritizes safety and respect, focusing on proactive measures like awareness campaigns and bystander intervention training. 

I learned that Title IX and VAWA investigations and disciplinary procedures emphasize fairness, transparency, and support for all parties involved. Institutions must ensure an impartial process, provide access to resources, and respect confidentiality while adhering to due process requirements.

I will apply this knowledge through clear communication during investigations, and promoting education about rights and responsibilities to foster safer campus environments.
