Activity

There are many factors to comply with TWC requirements. I plan to continue my education by taking training on becoming a registered representative. Additionally, I plan to continue to study requirements for documentation and deadlines which seem to be my weakest area. I passed the director's training and am off to a good start.

The TWC and CCS have clear and explicit requirements for key personnel at a career college. This includes the school director, director of education, admissions personnel, and faculty. Appropriate forms and fees must be submitted to gain approval for the key personnel -- generally before those personnel begin working in their role.

Attrition has strong emotional and psychological underpinnings for students. It takes a comprehensive effort on the part of staff and faculty to help ensure that students feel a sense of belonging to counteract potential thought of dropping out.

Retention is every staff member's responsibility. I like the idea of having admissions representatives track first-term attendance.

Both students and staff benefit from leaders who demonstrate emotional intelligence. In my experience, this leadership ability is often overlooked and underdeveloped.
