Once I had a student that has a disability. I asked myself, how is she going to survive nursing? I spoke to my administrator about it. His answer was to closely monitor her and assist when she ask for help. That student is now a successful Registered Nurse.
Accommodation is beneficial and very helpful, not only to students with ADHD or LD, but also to every students who need it.
Not all blind students have the same way of approaching their education. It is important to ask what type of accommodation they need.
We cannot discriminate students with disabilities. They are entitled to the same opportunity as those without disabilities. They must be given accommodation based on what they need.
