I found this information to be interesting - I know a lot of rules and regulations are required for any government-related money, and I'm glad we have an office that keeps up with these things. As a faculty member it's way over my head. However, for my part, I would not exaggerate or be dishonest in any way with a student or prospective student. I've learned that I need to have all the stakeholders provide evaluation of my courses including content experts, online teaching experts, students, peers.
I am encouraged to start using more audio feedback for my rubric responses
I think understanding the eight tasks of scaffolding has been the most important concept from the modules I just completed.
I understand that the students (and professor) need to know exactly where and how to find each module, and understand what is available within that module. I also am fascinated to learn more about learning objects and how to develop my own.

I understand more about the differences between collaborative, cooperative, and problem-based learning.

Using rubrics for assessment is a great tool to save time and help me be sure I'm covering everything the student should receive feedback about to achieve course objectives.

I have experienced every one of the limitations and misconceptions on my part and especially on the part of students - students who want an easy A and just want you to tell them what's on the exam.  As a nursing instructor that has been very frustrating to me, and I was so happy to read that it isn't just me.  It's true that students probably will have to change the way they learn when they engage in active learning.  Memorization isn't going to be enough in a professional program, although it was in high school, and probably even in… >>>

Online learning creates an opportunity for the student to master the topic and learn to problem-solve within its context only if the instructor can design active learning strategies and learn to be a coach instead of the "sage on the stage."
