I learned different ways to keep students engaged based on their different ways of learning and eliminate disengagement.

Asynchronous discussions allow reflection and more participation that allows students to dive deeper into their learning and environment. Synchronous discussions can limit students and may result in less thoughtful responses. 

Utilize tools like biographical sharing to help build trust and increase engagement. Online courses also benefit from personalization and consistent feedback for the students. 

Review courses and be prepared for students! Online courses can be hard for students depending on their learning style.
