I have learned there are many different ways people can respond when they are in crisis and how to stay calm and support them. 

Its important to remember that teaching adults is different than teaching children, and some adults will come in with their own experiences and motivations. 

Advising students along their way is important to helping them stay on their path to success.

Treating students as valued adults, and helping them address any real world outside issues, will help them follow through on their school path to success

When a student comes to speak to you its important to set everything aside and focus on what theyre saying to make sure they feel heard.

While students are customers and we help however we can, they need to be held accountable for their own learning as well.
