I learned that being a top performer doesn't always translate to being a good manager or leader. I also appreciated the examples when a role calls for both management AND leadership -- while other roles are more focused on one or the other. The elements of influence and persuasion are often overlooked by some who call themselves leaders.  

Interesting to think about how FERPA applies when wanting to share a screen shot of an online classroom. 

I found it helpful to know that students can add a statement when they disagree with something in the official record. 

I learned that not all staff have access to the same level of student information. In my role, I would not expect to have access b/c I don't use student information to fulfull my role/responsibilities. 

Separating the financial aid and admissions processes will help protect against any confusion between the two.
