I am an RN. But beacuse of health problem I surrendered my job. Since 2005, Ive been working in SBC. Being an RN I can still use my knowledge in the nursing field as an instrutor.

My experiences

I feel the same. I worked as a surgical nurse for 15 years. Working in the hospital compared to teaching are the same for me. If a patient gets better, while student learned a lot from you that means I did a good job to my fellow men.

what to do when not sure of and answer

We have to try our best to give an answer to what ever question being brought. They might not be contented but al laeast they heard my opinion & when you get a chance try to research what is all about.

I should always give them compliment during Q & A portion. So that they will always participate.Do not give them negative attitude beacuse they were wrong.

I should be always ready of a class work material. After my lecture I will let them work on it to make sure they get the information during lecture.

To maintain retention, as an instructor I have to know whats going on to my student if I noticed a lot of absences. I will talk to her & encourage her to come to school everyday regardsless of any issue.
