Professionalism is a key component to getting a job and being successful at that job. It is not always how we dress but how we interact with others and the things we do and say. For me, I can apply this in my classroom when teaching students about the real world. Discussing with them what professionalism is.

I have learned that employability skills are crucial skills for success in the workplace. I can apply this learning when it comes to working with students and helping them understand what goals are and how to go about setting them. I can also help others learn more about time management and prioritize the most important tasks.

I learned about gamification and how this allows students to be creative and at the forefront of their own learning. Students love games and this is a great way for them to learn through the use of technology. Something that I can do to apply this in my own classroom is allowing students to use their creativity as this could lead to a technology career pathway for them.

I learned that teamwork is is a process but is a vital part to building relationships and trust in others. A key component in the workforce. The acronym TEAM was another new thing that I learned. I can use the acronym and mindset with my students that everyone achieves more when we work together.

I have learned that verbal and nonverbal communication is so effective. It is key to avoiding miscommunication and building relationships with others. Without good communication in the workplace can lead to struggles.

I have learned more about how to ask students more open-ended questions and how to allow ample time for students to respond. This time and opportunity allows for critical thinking and problem solving. Both essential employability skills.
