Glad that it was pointed that not everyone comes in at the same level.  Sometimes it really does take some adjustments of examples to get the class on the "same page"

Clear policies are important  to provide fairness.

It's important to assess the progress of the lesson as you go and adjust.

I learned I need to pay more attention to my whiteboard and the "mess" I can leave on there at times.

Taking moments to pause and observe the class can go a long way in making adjustments to the class flow and to regroup.

In order to do things BOTH well and right… you must first have done them poorly to learn to get do them well!

Disruptive students can often be a challenge and one of the biggest disrruptions is being late.   I am working being able to set those clear expectations.  The first hour of everyday is so key.

I like the idea of the "observer" and the colored cards for speaking. It may for people to have to say something in class also for our shy people.

Seating charts/rotation may be a good idea to put in place also.

I have some main take aways from this:

- Ask the students what is their reason to learn?

- Convey that even the CSV, CIS, MAC classes have information that they will learn and that will help them in their careers.  WIFM what's in in for me at every stage.  And I need to start including more ice breakers in these classes

- 10% of students will turn in late work.  This has helped provide some verbiage to clarify the acceptance of late work from students.

- To ask myself more questions afterwards as to what worked ans what did… >>>
