The importance of focusing on the student and not the diagnosis. A person is more then their disability.

It is important to understand how a disability affects a student in order to better accommodate them in the classroom, whether by simply offering preferential seating, or more in depth accommodations like providing notes or extra time for tests. Getting to know the student will help you better meet their needs.

I thought there were great examples on how to modify your classroom to help accommodate students with disabilities, including preferential seating, alternative teaching strategies, and the importance of speaking with the student to help understand their needs.

It is important to make students with disabilities (including invisible disabilities) feel welcome and accommodated in the classroom.

The tips and strategies for dealing with "center-stage" students and students who are struggling to stay engaged were very helpful!

Having a clear and concrete policy for late assignments to avoid confusion and post due dates in multiple locations to help ensure student awareness

I've learned the importance of varying teaching methods to ensure that students of all different learning types are able to access the material

I struggle with remembering names, so the tips on how to do so, and the importance of doing so, were very valuable.
