Great research on online interacting. I know that I will need to sharpen my communication skills and use care when communicating with my students. We need to be approachable and safe as instructors. This is now a bit trickier to do in an online environment.

Sharpening online communication and verbiage is essential in a professional and instructional setting. Misinterpretation and tone can be a problem for students to faculty and vice versa. Communication style and tone will need to be set by the instructor and follow up by example.

The pandemic shifted and changed the culture of learning. I will need to work on adapting to more online resources and techniques  so that the students can get the most from their courses, and ultimately succeed.

Responding to student requests and inquiries in a timely fashion not only promotes trust and genuine interest from instructor to student, but also improves the chances of success for them.

Smaller bites of lecture at 15 minutes are shown to be more effective for student engagement, interest, and therefore learning potential.

Introduce yourself and share some personal or professional information about yourself. Describe the class subject and an overview of what we will be learning and its relevance. If it is a large class, plan a quick game for students to become familiar with one another to help ease the tension of unfamiliarity

Developing a detailed plan for students and for myself as an instructor is vital in determining the outcome of student success

Transitioning  from a career in clinical l practice to teaching will require me to become more prepared and organized in areas that I am not used to. I will need to make sure that my students have everything they need to be successful in their learning.
