About me

I am a medical instructor with over 10 years of experinence. In addition, I just completed a MSPH in public health and worked 1 year for the military as a health educator running programs on smoking cessation, nutrition and exercise improvement tracking the cessation, weight and BMI metrics pre and post completion of our educational sessions.

In class Portfolio of clinical hands on skills

I like the idea of showing the students a completed portfolio of hands on skills that they can use on interviews and can add skills to it on their externships. It can be time consuming to get it started but the dividends of providing a good example of what a clinical portfolio looks like and how to present their clinical skills in a clear and concise matter is priceless.

Education has so many different platforms for both student and instructor it becomes important to have ongoing training so the material and instructor stays relevant within their field.

multi learning styles

i also like to incorporate many differnt styles of learning in one teaching module. I will start by showing where the relevant class lectures comes from in the textbook, then break down that information into a diagram format if allowable or have the student demonstrate the task taking tuns to show what they have learned.
