The video of the professor talking to his students prior to the class and getting a feel for the level of enthusiasm for the class was insightful. I often stress prior to teaching a class and talking to student before the class would probably put me at ease. 

Similar to the military, it is important for an instructor to know the pre-requisite materials covered. This is similar to knowing the job of your subordinates. Pre-test are also a great way to gauge the students' knowledge of the subject so the instructor can adjust the class to challenge the students but not overwhelm them. 

This module demonstrates the importance of learning objectives. The evaluations created by the instructor should allow the students to demonstrate their understanding of the learning objectives in a positive way. 

This module highlights and further re-enforces the need for the instructor to develop test or ways to test the students to ensure the materials covered are understood.

The course emphasized the contribution of the student's questions. Even bad or ill-informed questions can be used to explain the key points on the subject. The teacher must be aware of their body language when being asked a question to ensure that the student feels that their contribution to the class is worthwhile. 

When an instructor understands that their students learn in a variety of ways it allows the instructor to tailor their classes to ensure the students retain the key points.
