Stephen Michas

About me

I have been a college instructor for 5+ years and I intend to remain in the professional field of instruction for life. I currently teach science courses, however, now that I have recently completed my master's degree in General Psychology from Capella University, I intend to teach psychology as well. I firmly believe that teachers "touch the future" by giving their guidance, knowledge, motivation, and inspiration to their students and in this manner - pass it on going forward.

I agree with this. I'm kind of embarrassed to admit it, but most of my teaching has been centered around lecturing for 95% (or sometimes even more) of the entire class periods. This course has definitely encouraged me to creatively seek multiple methods to engage & expose my students to as many different looks as possible to the academic material being presented.

Diversity is Power

I am a colleague of Samuel Balanoff & I agree with him, this has been a tremenously beneficial learning experience as a professional instructor. I am pleasantly surprised by how much immediately beneficial information I learned. I would strongly recommend this course experience for any & all college (and perhaps high school as well) instructors.
