I have learned that just like in person learning, online learning requires different teaching styles to accommodate different learning styles.  I will take into consideration that everyone's home environment is different and I will need to adjust for this and be available to help.  I will need to give assignments to students using different methods like written and videos.  I will need to adjust my lessons based on student needs and comprehension.

Family life can have an effect on their education.  When they only speak another language at home, it is hard for them to go back and forth.  I can understand this and be patient with them.

We need to offer multiple types of assessments in order to make sure we meet their needs and assess them fairly.

We need to provide a safe learning environment so they can feel comfortable to ask questions and admit that they may not know something.

ELL students need additional support and will have a better chance to succeed if they have a strong support group.

We need to respect all cultures and understand that it is a long process for them to be familiar with the new language.
