I learned more about best practices for constructing exam items. I hope to be more thoughtful in multiple choice items. I also think it’s helpful for instructors to consider exam and quiz items immediately following each class so that they ensure alignment.

I appreciated the focus on CATs as well and would like to encourage their use to assess knowledge anonymously and informally within class sessions.
It's a good idea to prepare questions in advance that are a good level to encourage student participation and it makes a big difference to be supportive from the first class to build comfort for students to answer.
Flipped classroom- identify what content students can take in on their own, through videos, readings, recordings, etc., and then focus on what can be applied or what they need your help/expertise with to support them on in class.
It's helpful to remind myself to ensure that I teach outside of my learning style and do it for the students. Sometimes I forget to focus on visual learning since it's not my strength or I disregard an image or graphic when I need to make sure that all the different types of content flow together.
