I use the categories found in Bloom's Taxonomy when I offer students choices for their presentations - they can use collages, speeches, music, artwork, lyrics, flowcharts, videos, etc. to create their presentation. I have found this to be highly effective since the students get to choose a format that not only sparks their creativity, but coincides with how they learn.

Informative & interesting...

I, too, agree. This course was informative and useful. I was able to implement some of the learning immediately. That's one of the things I enjoy about continuing education as it helps me maintain a freshness in the classroom and I don't need to be only a "talking head" watching students sleeping in class!

Ways of learning

I've studied much of this material before, but always find something important and relevant. As I teach adult learners, I am constantly reminded that they need to be able to focus on the relevance of the course material as well as the content. Teaching General Education in a career college is an additional challenge as my course is often seen as a requirement rather than a boost to their career choice.
