I use the categories found in Bloom's Taxonomy when I offer students choices for their presentations - they can use collages, speeches, music, artwork, lyrics, flowcharts, videos, etc. to create their presentation.  I have found this to be highly effective since the students get to choose a format that not only sparks their creativity, but coincides with how they learn.

I, too, agree.  This course was informative and useful.  I was able to implement some of the learning immediately.  That's one of the things I enjoy about continuing education as it helps me maintain a freshness in the classroom and I don't need to be only a "talking head" watching students sleeping in class!

I've studied much of this material before, but always find something important and relevant.  As I teach adult learners, I am constantly reminded that they need to be able to focus on the relevance of the course material as well as the content.  Teaching General Education in a career college is an additional challenge as my course is often seen as a requirement rather than a boost to their career choice.  Knowing how to collect feedback from students, how to encourage different ways of learning, and how to keep the material fresh and challenging has helped me create more of… >>>
