It is important to be empathetic but not to become too close to employees one supervises.

I realize that I need to go back to some of my powerpoints and simplify them.

Remember to compliment the work of employees and how they move the organization forward.

I learned that it is important to get feedback from faculty when deciding to make departmental changes rather than to just present the change and then leaving.
