Always prepare for a demonstration prior to having the students to the demonstration with the class. 

Give them background information about yourself so you seem more human to the students. 

I will place importance on reviewing course objectives, and using the syllabus as a guideline for assignments. The syllabus is a contract between the student and the instructor. 

Always be the example that you want to see.
