It's important for an online instructor to create a class syllabus.  The syllabus provides students with an outline summary of the course topics. A syllabus typically provides specific information about your course, the textbook or books you'll be using, what's expected of the students, class assignments, due dates, grading system, projects, rules for extensions, etc. Your syllabus should be available to students electronically and the syllabus will become dynamic across time, as materials are added or removed, edited or rearranged and see the important components separately.

It's very important to keep your modules consistent, using a 10 to 14 point text size, an easy to read font style, and use bold and italics to emphasis important information. It's also important to create a Learning-Objects Database (a repository to store files, graphics, audio, video, or any necessary course components that may be used more than once) and maintain it. By maintaining your Learning-Objects Database, it will save you time. You'll be able to find, sort, locate, and upload desired components to use in multiple courses.

I also learned how important it is to monitor students posts/comments, keeping track of each students posts/comments, making comments on their discussions and providing them with feedback.

One of the ways you could project your presence online is by having an area where each student could introduce themselves and give a short biography of themselves and you read them and respond to each student personally by the end of the class day. And one of the ways to project your authority online is to give a biography of your accomplishments, awards, education, experience, etc. It's very important that your presence is felt.… >>>

As an online Instructor it's very important that I know what course structure I will be using. The Most common structures are modules and lessons. It's also very important that I am fimiliar with the institutions online course delivery system.  It will make things easier for me to track student progress, answer any questions students may have and/or post new questions for students to answer, posting announcements, view student profiles, post calendar events, delete postings, if needed, post grades, it's where your full course requirements will be posted, and more. The course requiements should include; Due dates, deadline for final… >>>
