Remember to be creative to have a positive learning environment.  This way of teaching may need to adjust with different classes, but in general create and environment that students can learn in a positive way.

Understanding my student group, which may involve a variety of ages and life experiences that can add to the learning content and perspectives.

I will ensure I use a variety of teaching styles/methods to reach the student group.  I can utilize demonstrations or group discussions and real life examples to bring the educational material to life.

It is important to develop a rapport with the students to know their name and have them connect with other classmates.  That sense of community will help them be successful in the course.

I like the idea of being there early to greet students and being available before class.  I also realize how important a syllabus is to the students to set expectations.  Ensuring the content of the syllabus is accurate and complete will be a goal of mine for the class.
