New ideas to implement for introducing course content

Use activities that will challenge students to think and apply learned information.

Obtaining feedback related to the student learner's performance from the external internship site represenative and the designated course evaluator is neccessary. This information can help the student learner identify needs of improvement and what actions have been identified as successful. I plan to gather this information to help formulate a plan of action for future development instead of only relying on my own evaluation findings. 

It is important to assess and evaluate the student learner's performance while at the external site of internship. We are ultimately responsible and accountable for the student's academic and clinical experience. We must ensure the standards are met and students are practicing as outlined in the course expectations. 

In order to have a cohesive working relationship, each member should have identified roles, responsibilities, and expectations. It also impotant for evaluations to be performed and documented by student and evaluator. I plan to incorporate this by having weekly self-reflection discussions with the student learner and ask for input from the external organization on the student's performance. 

When coordinating with external organizations for student learning and experience, it is important to identify specific goals for achievement. Educational institutions must determine appropriateness and effectivess of the learning opportunities presented. My goal is to be proactive about providing usefull opportunities for both the student learner and demonstrate the benefits to the external organization.

It is important to create opportunities where students can apply classroom learning to real life processes. Students are given experiences that will help them determine if they want to continue with the current filed of study. Instructors and evaluators are able to recognize and address student needs to enhance success. Employers will have the opportunity to colloborate with educational institutions to better prepare future employees for organizational needs. I want to ensure student learners and employers can easily identify the benefits of working together.  

Remember it is not about your teaching but the students' learning.
