About me

My name is Dr. Doug Lewis. I am President and Owner of Excalibur Business Consultants, LLC consulting in a wide range of areas involving healthcare, business, microenterprise development, and law while also maintaining a small law practice on the side. I am also General Counsel and Compliance Officer for several other related organizations. I am also an active Faculty Member for six universities teaching in a wide variety of subject matters encompassing such areas as law and ethics, business, healthcare, clinical and administrative practice, science, nutrition, sociology and biopsychology, and medicine. In addition to my teaching duties, I consider myself to be a lifelong adult learner, having earned my AuD degree along with a Ph.D, JD, three Masters Degrees, two Bachelors Degrees, and an Associates Degree. I maintain professional licensure and practices in Law, Clinical Audiology, Insurance, Securities Analysis, and Nursing Home Administration along with earning numerous association certifications and registries. It's not all about work, although I do love to stay busy. In the off-time, I work out extensively and am a musician routinely sitting with area rock, jazz, blues, and reggae bands with my most recent work with the Phil Am Band in Columbus, Ohio.

I work in a very non-traditional environment in several modalities and facilities (including my home) as well as a clinic and a law office. Juggling those priorities can be very tough as well as determining the "priority of the priorities". Hence several of the strategies such as the daily log are very helpful and I can see the benefit of having something to do a time/motion study to assess how I can improve in the future.

What sparks me is that being also a musician, I look at it as a performance, be it in the actual or virtual classroom. Each performance is unique and individualized, although the structure and topics have uniform expectations. I consider each class an opportunity to excel and personally believe I must exceed in all cases. I do critically analyze what I can or should do differently after each class… >>>
