Tutoring for a student facing academic challenges helps build confidence in a short period of time. Engaging with the students offers the 'we care' from all staff members. Retention will be increased because of the interaction reinforce the 'we care' attitude among the students.

Retention requires the entire staff to be aware of possible high risk student and be engaged in the outside (social) as well as inside (educational) forces detracting all students. Encouaging students to interact with the staff encourages the possible loss of the student keeping retention in all programs higher.

RT103 -> School Involvement

this module reinforces students are at risk for leaving the education process for various reasons. It does take the entire staff (admissions, education, placement and program evaluators post graduate) to encourage a positive valued learning experience.
