At Concorde in Miramar, Fl. Our program uses other program for field trips. For example, the Pharmacy Tech students host an open clinic. This allow students from other program to walk through the PT lab and learn how other programs and can affect their profession.

I agree with you 100%. Juggling both the curriculum and adding excitement to the classroom can also be time consuming, but in the end it is all worth the effort.

Thank you for your response, I completely agree with you. But as a new teacher you are clueless. I think the first three months of teaching is very scary. After I cried, I learned quickly how to manage my classroom.

I think you did the right thing informing your director of the problem as well as document every in the system. Students are always going to have problems and sometimes they are beyond our control

New instructors sometimes are more worried about students liking them. New instructors are unsure how to control the classroom. Or they are afraid to disciple the students because they don’t want students to complain. The Instructors role is to set the tone for the entire class. Instructors need to manage the materials, the class flow and the students. Classroom management is a skill that needs to be learned.

Students that are always angry usually have more underline issues beyond the classroom. As an instructor, I believe we should give students an opportunity to voice their opinions. I like the ides of having students write their complaints on paper. This method keeps the instructor and the student focus on the problem at hand. I also don’t like to discuss problem with the entire class, because it becomes a complaint session and nothing usually get slove.

I believe that the words that come out of instructor’s mouth to a student can motivate them or break them break. Regardless if a student is an A student or an F student our goal is to motivate everyone across the finishing line. As human, we all want praises. To keep the class exciting, guest speakers are great suggestions.

I think it is the instructors’ responsibility to empower his or her students through class activities. Instructors set the tone for the entire classroom. Students would be encouraged to learn in different ways. Also, instructors should add real life situations to the lecture. By during these things, students would be more engaged with the lecture and the material covered will stick with them.
