This course was great to accomplish.  The education of changing the way I present the course to my students.  Matter of fact I had a student that was sitting behind the post int he class room so she could sleep.  Well that ended when I moved the table from the post so she had to sit in the middle of the room and stay alert.  Just changing the room so it can work with you as you teach the courses and also gain the respect from the students as well.

Motivated is the toughest part to teaching!  If the students are not motivated to learn, how can they be educated?  Yet we must remember that motivation start with me as the faculty professor.

I have also completed ED105 and found this to be very encouraging to the way I teach my classes.  Students need to be engaged thoughout the class.  Recently I did a make up class for Accounting and did the class right after the first one.  In order to keep them moving and motivated I brough sugar to keep them alert.  THe remarkable part to this class is that each student was focused and willing to answer questions. 

Great class keep them coming!

I teach Accounting and the students come in stating that they are in another math class.  Well I must break the ice and tell them that this is not a math class but more on the theory side.  Since we accountants use a calculator to add up the columns that is the only part of math.  But I must say it does help to break the ice on that first day when you get all the false statements out of the way!

Those boxes were very interesting to say the least!  I think one of them I listened to three or four times because the professor hit many topics right on the nail.  It was in the Fourth module.  I definitely took many new things to teach my class going forward.  Especially the techniques we can use for these classes.

 

I just finished the ED104.  What an experience this was for me as a professor in accounting!  I was ready to submit my Class Prospectus to administration I changed the entire Prospectus for the class.  I used the font change, boxing and due dates highlights for the students.  When I opened the class I used humor, facts of the class and also showed them the final exam so they knew what the expectations were for the class.

Absolutely, many students feel they should be treated differently during class.  I tend to be sure that all students are teaching me as well as me teaching them.  Then the class is not only for them but for the instructor as well.  We are all learning through the process of the course and not one instructor can know everything including a 23 year instructor.  Challenging the instructor is something all students should do,  for the instructor to allow the challenge opens them to be a well rounded person.
