About me

I have worked in education specifically admissions for almost 13 years. Although I have been in management for 28 plus years I still find my job rewarding, ever changing and challenging. The one thing I do find consistent is people. How succesful we are is a direct reflection to caring about our students, listening and truly doing the right thing for each person. I am humbled daily and honored to help people change their life even if its in a small way.

Wow this was a serious eye opener! Not only did we address educators, social media, but gaming (I have an 11 yr. old boy who loves it).

We talked about living beyond our means, addressing Aderol for ADD...its all true sadly not sure how to address this except on my end which is more fresh air, trips to the park, hobbies, sports and taking care of our animals we have 3 which my son does, including bathing as he needs a sense of responsibility and to care for someone other than himself which he does have a handle on although… >>>

I would like to hear a lot more feedback on how people overcome objections, whether it is money, or husband or the possibility of failing yet another thing (passed failed attempts)

@srmeers1 The one thing that comes to mind is that we have a whole different world out there. Our clients are smarter, they can also get info on-line at their disposal and they dont have to wait on us for information. Also its ok to ask some personal questions (probing questions  ) on the phone before the appt and that is not too intrusive.

I can apply it by asking alot more questions before booking the appt and not rushing through my initial call.

Support is not necessary but it is nice to hear how other admissions people… >>>

It does appear that there is a bit of narcissistic incoming students I have noticed more so now than ever before. It doesnt seem the motivation is there and respect to their instructors is present and I am not sure why or what can be done about this. Possibly in the admissions department weeding out the serious students from the ones that just want to skate through, probably is a good idea. Changing the entrance exams and level of difficulty might help rid us of the slackers.

I found this course helpful as it does reiterate what I do on a daily basis, basically it reinforces the methods I have learned, it is always nice to know we are on the right track!

I agree completely. In order to help a client we need to understand who they are now and what their specific needs are (strengths and weaknesses) so we can determine how best we can assist them!
