This teaching brought a broader awareness to me on those being victimized by either: sex exclusion, campus crimes, domestic violence and assault crimes. 

On line courses require a different level of dedication, therefore students tend to procrastinate.  Courses also require a level of writing intelligence in which some students may feel their writings skills are inadequate.

Placing asynchronous discussion topics on boards help keep all students involved.  Students can learn from each other in this sitting, as everyone has a different learning approach. 

On line is challenging as you have to get to know your audience by their ability to project themselves via writing.  Student bio's is a great introduction on what type of writing skills to expect from each student in the on line classroom.

 

Most instructors are subject matters experts on the content, it's know how the back end of the on-line technology portion that can be challenging. Instructors who know what a student sees and completes via on-line have much more success and students are content knowing the instructor is their technology resource. 

Each individual is exactly that...an individual.  With that, one must realize the uniqueness of each and realize everyone will have their own sense of learning style, as an instuctor I have to be sensitive to each unique individual.  Thus I can provide techniques to everyone within classroom. 

 

How to walk the fine line of authority and personalization.  Students can learn to respect the position and yet feel a closeness/togetherness  from the sharing of life experiences each within classroom, including yourself.

 

Use of road map/syllabus and checklist of necessary subjects will help keep instructors on track for successful teachings.

3 Major roles: Model = be a person of exellence, Manage = bring a everything together and Motivate = help others get to their goal.  Also develop yourself, be yourself and apply yourself to career and students.
