It is such a challenge to keep students involved and for them to see true value for the time they spend in class.  Being able to create an active learning environment is key.  It is no wonder that childrens museums that include active learning are so successful.  But, it takes a creative instructor who can develop the skills to provide an active learning environment for their class.  These people will be seen as the best instructors by students and will be in demand by educational institutions. 

This was a good course for helping me identify some ways to further aid me in dealing with stress.  Mostly, how to identify it so that I can deal with it.  Identifying the stresses in our lives is the first and most important key to dealing with them and dealing with them effectively.  I like the idea of making a list and deciding if it was something I can eliminate, change, or just have to learn to live with.

Lots of available tools out there.  No excuses for instructors not to be able to reach out to students.  Likewise, no excuse for students not to be able to reach out to instructors!

It can be difficult to get the quiet students to come out of their shell but it can be done by finding a way to connect to them on their level.  This helps them feel important to the instructor and builds their confidence in such a way that they can participate more openly in class.
