About me

I am a Automotive Instructor at a Technicial College in Colorado Springs CO. I have found that Teaching is a very rewarding profession which is some much better than working in the field.

Skills

master ase certified, associates degree in occupational studies in automotive technology, 11 year of in the field experiance

Activity

I would say that using open questions can bring a new level to the learning enviroment. I like that these types of question open the door for other student to want to give their input.

Over all I feel this was a good course as well. Though some of this information is repeated over again through most of the ED101 to ED110  courses. I dont have to write lesson plans at my school, this is because the school provides us with them. I am allowed to modify the lesson plans to better fit what i need to cover in class.

I disagree with The Pygmalion Effect. I have seen in class that students will limit themselves to doing the bare minimum in class. I had one student that every time he got to the point of doing the test on a activity he would stop and ask for help. He would state that "he had no clue as to what he was doing". I told him that he could do it and did not need the help. Lo and behold he would get the questions right about 50% of the time. I watched this student sabotage his test by guessing.… >>>

I found that the information about types of intakes is off. I have gone through these ED class for a few years, and all but this one states "that learning can be down from any style by everyone, but the preference is one"

I know this may not be the place to say this but I am having trouble with this course. This was about lab learning and learning styles. But this course only focused on 1 style to us that have took it. The was no thought games/quizzes and it was 100% read this understand it and take a test at the end hope you pass. This is the 5th course I have taken from Max Knowledge and this is the only one I have been very disappointed with. I feel that I have not received anything out of this course except… >>>

I have noticed that there is a few things in this module that fits to my stress. Unlike most career instructors my full time job is that of a instructor. I work 4 days a week and split shifts 8am-1pm and 6pm-11pm. This is a huge stress for me because of the lack of time to get personal things done. Relationships are not a easy thing to do with this schedule, spending time with family is rare, and the fatigue of not being able to rest between shifts. Another stress is, I was a graduate of the school I was… >>>

I have personally noticed that classroom environment is a key to success. I have been instructing the same 2 classes now for 1 year, and this last term I have had better classes meaning grades and attitudes. The room I was in was small and cramped due to the number of students and equipment/lab space. This last term I had more students but a room that was 2 times the size and a separate lab space. As for myself, I have had a more positive out look on the class and I have seen how this change increased the level of learning.

I too agree, the information of the course was very useful. I am a new instructor and found alot of the infomation will help me reach out to my students, this keeping them involved with the class.
