I find having a rubric for assignments that the skills expected to be acquired are not very clear. I feel a rubric helps the students decide how to study or practice for the assessment. I give a version slightly different than the actual final evaluation rubric. I am wondering if this is helpful, or should the rubric be given just before the assessment? I do hands on training, but this course made me question my method, which I think if they know what to practice they will know how to practice more effectively.
I feel being current on tech is essential for the current generation. I have many reasons, but my main reason is to show through example keeping current is a personal choice, and they should be willing to learn new technology. I really like to talk about and push this subject. I explain in the world new technologies usually make the job easier, but keeps them as a worker relevant to their career choice.

I found on on one sessions with these students can help us work together on their success. in a tutoring session there is less worry of slowing the class down or feeling outcast for what they may think is a "dumb question". I can get to know their learning style better from the personal interactions.

I have one on one conversations with my english as a second language students so they know they can ask the meaning of a word even during a test which helps calm the fear of not understanding a concept because of language barriers.

I feel group project help build "soft skills" that are hard to teach. Grouping students helps build professionalism through exercise rather than lecture.

I like to give a review of each chapter to help students study around excess information.

When I teach about equipment we use in the pharmacy, I like to always have a sample of the equipmnet so they can actually touch and get a feel for exactly what we are talking about.

Use Power Point if your class has it. Create out and hit slide before and after each question. Using a wireless clicker; ask the question then fake pitch to the student and when they swing show by clicking forward or back if they answered correctly.
Fro memory I like to review the key termas from a lecture; first, right after a lecture, second, the next day we review in the begining of class. I found better test results at the end of the week from doing this simple quick review.

Debbie, An idea I use in my law and ethics class is a mock trial, evne old trials. Assign each person a role. Depends on the subject matter. Ryan
