Activity

I learned that it is essential to give students positive feedback to help with their engagement in the classroom.

I enjoyed learning about the Asynchronous learning environment. Asynchronous learning helps students complete the course material at their own pace and allows them to feel confident before proceeding. In addition, Asynchronous learning environments support adult learners in advancing their learning. I can use this in my synchronous course by allowing students to work independently with supplemental materials.

During this module, I have learned that it is essential for students to take responsibility for their learning. This teaches them time management and good decision-making skills. These skills will be essential in their future careers. I plan on using this information during my project base learning assignments. If a student solves a real-world problem, they are more dedicated to their learning and more empowered.

Classroom culture is important at any level of learning. I have learned that instructors are there to guide their students to create expectations of themselves that they can achieve. In any situation, it is important to create goals that can be reached. I plan to use this information during my small-group learning. During small groups, students can set goals for themselves and the group.

As I was reading through this module, I learned that students will be invested in their learning and success in a course when they are able to connect the concepts they are learning about to real-world examples. In addition, it is essential that students be able to drive their learning in the classroom because it helps them to understand the information and concepts on a deeper level. I will be teaching Microbiology. I plan on using this information during class when we're discussing case studies about specific diseases in terms of treatment and prevention.
