Make sure to call attendance right away and create a enviroment where the students within the classroom tha fosters grwoth adn support. 

As a faculyt it is important to wear diffirent hats and make sure that the students see that. You can just one kind of faculty member, then you will be stuck. However, if you were multiple hats and are more fluid in there roles, this is a lot better. Also establishing a good communication with students is good. 

Post-orientation is so important for the students to see exactly what is going on how they leave oreintation will depend whether they stay or not for the rest of the oreintation time. 

I learned a lot about retention because its all about creating a culture of rention and making sure that you foster that growth when it goes to providing it for the students. 

Faculty and Staff development is also important with the student growth as well. It will be great to see how it may grow and how they go foward. 

As the bottom line said, trust is everything in retension. The more confrontational you when you are talking to the students, the worst its going to be, so its better to be more straight foward and kind and naturing to them. 

I think everyone knows that stress is not helpful in college. You have to aware of the stressors for the students and make sure to understand that and make it so it is easier. 

Rentension should be the focus of everybody including faculty, staff and professors. If it is a team effort, then it should be good to go. 

A very nice leason really into personal develoment plan and how everythign works together. Also real goals for the education career path going foward. 

As the lesson correctly pointed out I learned all of the diffirent tools in the leadership toolkit. Which includes the apperciative inquiry piece of the presentation, which I thought was very intresting! Funny thing is even with my classes when I doing bad in one class, instead of putting all of my resources there, I would instead put all of my resources in my good classes so that B could turn into an A. Its very true that focusing on the good and give you much results.
