Hello Victor,

Do you use youtube? By creating video critiques for your students will get more positive comments than negative ones. You can post it on youtube (be sure to apply the "unlisted" privacy before posting the link anywhere) and then share the link directly with your student(s).

I agree Brendan... was there any "one" area that was unclear to you within this course?

At one point, I worked for CTB/McGraw-Hill school systems where we created the standardized testing for various states. We utilized the database similar to what was spoken of within this class so far. By having a database that you can pull items from is great, but remember - those items need to be revised and edited and assessed as well on a continuing basis. With all the technologies available, I do believe this is one of the main reasons for needing to assess and re-write some of these template items. Your thoughts?

Lisa, This is really... a sad, sad story but very real. I had a student who I had in several classes. I spoke with this student on the phone but very briefly each time - until the last course before her graduation. Keep in mind that this student had been in school by this point - at least two years. She had to provide responses to her discussion boards each week and they were "flawless"... MLA was correct... research was terrific. Within this last course - I actually interviewed her for this company that she was to be working with… >>>

Thank you Lisa for your response, but the problem with these "papers for purchase" is that they GUARANTEE their work will not turn up plagiarized. Supposedly, they have some type of agreement with turnitin and SafeAssign where the papers are literally "removed" from their databases.

Hello Everyone,

I try to incorporate videos into my classrooms, catering to the visual learners or those who are shy and is afraid to contact their instructor for whatever reason. Below is a sample of a video explaining a specific assignment for one of my business classes.

For this task, I used Snagit to record the video (no time limits) and uploaded to youtube. I can use these videos from one class to another and makes things so much easier. Another application I use within my classrooms is textexpander. I use this to store my gradebooks for "each" of my… >>>

Hi Butch,

I incorporate videos and video critiques into my classes. I use Snagit for the critiques, save them to my desktop and then upload to youtube. I also provide video for instruction or clarification of a topic. Here's a "sample" of a video I would post within my classroom:

I do not know what "other" videos you can see within my youtube but the point is... youtube is free and creating videos for those who are visual learners is a great way to help. None of the student videos critiques should be visible. If they are... please let… >>>

Michael,

I absolutely agree with you regarding incorporating technologies into our courses to meet the needs of the diverse group of students. How do you address this issue and what strategies do you commonly use within your classes?

I would like to see/hear of the latest and greatest technology and trends that students seem to be reponding to within the online learning environment. My technique is to create videos and post them on youtube for my students. This is of course above and beyond the classroom. I may choose to provide video critiques for their Individual Projects so that they better understand what they need to work on and perhaps where they excel within any given program. I also provide extra links and references within my classes. I am asking you - what else can I contribute and… >>>

How do you feel about students who purchase papers for their discussion boards? Are there any solutions to "know" that they've done so?
