From this module I learned it is easy to motivate students when you care about each individual student and not seeing them as one class, but different people who are in your class for many different reasons. It is our job to motivate and excite them.

It was a good section to remind us that to engage students in discussions, we need to incorporate their real life experiences and how it can affect their learning outcomes and retention.

I have learned that you need to evaluate your students your own way and make sure they are always being put first.

I have learned about how to discuss more with students. Being able to discuss more with students allows the students to feel like they are being heard. That we are here to help them and in some cases, there may be times that we can't like in the "Impersonal Problems." However, we as instructors need to help figure out solutions or know already the solution at hand for those particular problems.

What I learned from crisis management is that everyone is different. You need to be able to pick out the quiet ones from the angry ones. No matter what the situation is, you have to be calm and be understanding.

A lot of the times there are students who just want to vent and you should let them. Not interfere what they are saying and not even give advice. Students need to be able to trust you and you have to be able to trust them.

Customer service in the classroom is essential because it promotes an enhanced learning environment and a supportive community.

Giving the students good customer service allows the students to have a better educational experience, which makes them enjoy the career they are heading off into and their chosen path.

Advising students is crucial for students to help achieve their goals for their current education and future goals.

Advising students helps them figure out a correct path in how to achieve their goals as well.

I help advise them on grades, attendance and help advise them for their long term goals. Like I have students who want to go to Vet School and I help them figure out ways to get there.

Effective communication is about focusing on students and keeping an open mind. You can't be closed minded and you can't work on other things while the students are coming up to you.

We need to be respectful and engaging when interacting with students. If you have to talk to them about something negatively, like an advisement, we have to come back and help them through it and tell them how can I help you? If you don't then the student is going to think they have to do it on their own or the student will not put the time… >>>

Giving students good customer service allows students to feel like we as instructors care.

We need to make sure the students understand they can always communicate with us.

We need to give students extra time and help if needed and we need to make it seem like it isn't an inconvience for us. I've stayed behind on ranches and let students practice tying or walking horses more.

I have students who want to go to Vet School and I help them figure out ways to get there!

Making sure they understand they will always come first is a major prioritiy.

We as instructions need to understand different factors that help with student retentions and the will to stay in the classroom. I have students who feel intimated by other students knowledge and I always tell the new students to never feel initimated by someone's knowledge, they are just in the program a bit longer, but never fear, you will get there just like everyone else.

We need to make sure everyone feels safe and secure and the student understands that they can always come and talk to us and we will never judge them. To help students retain information we… >>>
