Hi Dell,

Good question. I do not know for sure but it could be a couple of things. First the methods used in the 50's worked so why change. And even when the decision to change is made change comes very slowly. Also I think it could have something to do with educators wanting to research adaptive learning before utilizing it.

Peer Review

I have never been a fan of peer review. I cannot help but wonder about privacy issues. Depending on the topic of the assignment it could cause problems for students in the future because of student comments later.

Online students

Hi Vince, I am speaking as an online student. I have to agree that the standards for some online and ground schools leave a lot to desire. However earning a doctorate online has been grueling for me. I have worked my tail off. Your book sounds interesting I look forward to reading it. Janis

Online chats

I think that if students wanted to feel a presence from their instructor they would attend the online chats. I think that is one thing that students like about online education they can do it themselves. Janis

I think that often students that take classes online think that they will be easier. As an online doctoral student let me say that is not the case. Taking online courses makes you more responsible for your learning. Janis
