Good communication is the key to online learning.  As teachers, we much participate in dicussions. Give credit to the students when the discussions are going in the right direction.  If I find a student is not participating in the discussions, I may have to give the students an alias so they feel free to communicate. Encouraging collaboration with other students is also a great way to communicate with online classes. Scaffolding is also important in making sure it is student lead.

The main points of this module is to be consistent with the format and instructions and chunk material.  Too long of a video or information can cause students to loose interest.

There will be some students who may have obstacles or challenges when taking an online course.  This module is about the different problems students could face while taking classes online and how we can help smooth these challenges.  I agree excessive assignments or giving students too much can be a problem.  I also believe in keeping the students on top of things and helping them not to procrastinate.

This module is about how to engage learners with various learning styles.  Asynchrrnous and synchronous discussions are discussed and asychronous is the preferred method because students can do one thing at a time.

I learned one of the ways we can project our presence to my students is to give them a short biography. I would ask the students to give their biography. They can read other students biography.  I love this because I do this in the classroom.  I really get to know the students and they know me.  We can make this work and even try face-to-face discussions.

I must learn how to deliver instruction online to be effective for my students. Learning how to get around the CMS is an important factor in teaching my students.
