I agree. We want to help but we don't want it documented in such a way like they are in trouble.
There was good information but the begining stated six essential traits of leaders and did not number them off. So I took notes but still can't tell you what the six traits are as they were not clearly stated. The objectives were not met in this tutorial.
I really appreciated the resources!! It's getting my wheels turning for what changes I'd like to implement in my workplace. Thank you!!

Being stagnant creates boredom. You're right we need goals and challenges.
The quiet student I think is often quiet because of their lack of confidence. I try to ask the quiet students easier questions to help build their confidence. And when they get the answer right. Tell them, "yes you're right, say it with confidence!" (in a light tone while smiling)
I really like the popsicle stick idea. I remember my fifth grade teacher using it. Put all the students names on a stick and draw them out of a cup to randomly select someone to answer questions.
How do you impliment this? Have them write KWL on a sheet of paper and they fill out K&W before the lesson and L after?
Sometimes it feels like there are so many nice flowery concepts. But no steps to implement.
The goal is to keep a positive climate in the class (everyones attitudes) So there's less behaviors to deal with. :)
I think this can be done by being positive yourself and nipping negativity as quickly as possible.
When I start a class I emphasis that your work is usually the biggest portion of your awake hours so you want it to be a happy place. And I put quotes on the board everyday ex "Be a fountain not a drain." "If you were… >>>
