Computer technology is as important for healthcare providers as any other industry. Nursing informatics is an area that may be of interest t o those nurses who are proficient and savvy in computer technology and want to further develop concepts for healthcare.

Lifelong learning is one key component of success. In most industries, one must grow with the industry by keeping up with new trends and technologies. These activities will keep us on the cutting edge. 

Effective communication is multi-faceted.  One must be aware of their verbal and non-verbal cues during a discussion or presentation. These are skills that should be practiced often and will improve over time. 

Writing is essential as a healthcare provider. Writing nurse's notes is a necessary requirement to communicate a patient's progress or lack thereof. Being able to articulate those concepts intelligently is critical. 

Soft skills are necessary to provide holistic care to clients.
