About me

Activity

I just completed the course and it was a good refresher of student retention.  Sometimes in higher education we forget that students learning can be impacted by outside factors and it was good to review these and implement new strategies in ensuring that we as instructors communicate their success through feedback.

I just completed the ED104 modules and it was a very organized and interactive review for me.  I already hold a M.Ed. in Instructional Design and it brought me back to the basics which sometimes you forget as you forge ahead into other areas of curriculum development.  I will apply the information into the training that I provide to develop my faculty further.  Thank you to the developers of the courses that aid in the pursuit of teaching the teachers!

The module indicates that moving about the testing room promotes stress on students. I would argue the point that moving about the room is required at times. We utilize computers to test and movement about the room is required to ensure all testers can be observed. Perhaps this is a drawback to the room set up, but indeed necessary.
There was a student in a class that continually text during lecture. To get her attention, the faculty member text her a message during break and asked her to stop texting in class. After this forum, I wonder if instead the faculty member should have created small groups and evaluated the class prior to this reaction... although it did seem to correct the behavior!
