I learned the importance of using your evaluations, summative and formative to revise the course and the importance to keep a back up copy and archive of prior material.  

Support and feedback should be offered quickly.  Communication is key to success in the online platform.  Keep student feedback private.

Maintaining a schedule and separating work and personal time is essential.  Clear communication to the students with your online times is important to keeping this scheduling process effective. 

Using good Workload Management Strategies will keep my teaching more organized and objective related.  It can also ease the workload.

Helping students with time management is essential.  I can do this partly by adding the expected time needed to assignments and modules and sharing a well-planned calendar and syllabus.  

I learned more about using synchronous and asynchronous types of technology to improve online learning.  Blogs and wikis are new tools that I could use to improve learning discussions

It is important to vary your communication to your participants.  You must set the tone and expectations for how communication should occur.  The expectation should occur at the beginning.  You should be able to incorporate varied styles of teaching to adjust to your student's styles of learning.  

Once again, I learned how important my syllabus is.  I will add specific information about notifying me if accommodations are needed.  I already make accommodations often.  

I have not used rubrics for participation and communication.  This would be a great way to assess these.  I also learned setting communication rules are important for group collaboration.

I have learned to pay more attention to the ages of online participants for expectations of communication issues.  I also have learned to set higher expectations for self-discipline and motivation of the students.  I also need to provide more frequent feedback.
