Transforming rather than simply transferring class material is important in an online class.  The materials and modes of communicating ideas/concepts in class should be routinely evaluated to ensure the class is the best possible quality.

Working with the students to provide opportunities to be involved and communicative while also assuring that the content of their posts are correct and appropriate are important in the online forum.  Additionally, communication, evaluation, feedback all facilitate revisions and updates to the course as deemed necessary by the instructor to ensure that the course is of the utmost quality.

I learned that an instructor needs to identify their own teaching style but also needs learn the pros and cons of the various online teaching tools so that the instructor can present the best course possible utilizing the best tools possible.
