I just earned my master degree.  I teach pharmacy tech students at National College.  I am also a mother of 3 special needs children, and two sons.  I have many grandchildren.

Activity

This course is important regarding retention for instructors. Instructors need to learn ways to motivate thier students not only to help them remain in the course but also in the program.  Sometimes we are the student's first line of information and have to deal with them on the front lines.  When a student start making comments about quiting or just stops showing up to class; the instructor needs to step in and find out why.  Then together work out a plan to aid and motitvate the students into completing thier goals.

AT the college where I teach, ther are set syllabbi, but the instructors can be createive in the presentation of the subject matter. I try to change the routine of the class to make it more interesting.

In this course I have learned that the succesful instructor is one that is well prepared for the first day of class. Be early, organized with all instructional materials. Always be professional.

An instructor needs a lesson plan or bluebrint of the material being covered, knowledgeable about the materials for the class. Present an overview of the course so that the students will know what is expected of them. Be aware that there are different learning styles, and try to provide all during the course. Change the routine of the classroom, so not do the same thing at the same… >>>
