Have been teaching adults in a variety of settings for over 40 years. Career College setting for past 10.

Advanced from instructor to clinical coordinator to Program Director to Department Chair in several different programs and settings. Started out as a traditional student but got side tracked and went back to school later to finish so have been a nontraditional student myself.

Reinforcement for me

Most of the material in this course reinforced what I have learned through experience over many years of teaching. It is good to know that many things I found by "trial and error" before ever having any formal education courses are valid and useful in assessing my students.

Lenient/Strict Instructor

I am also one of those instructors that enforces the rules and regulations to the best of my ability. Even the ones I do not necessarily agree with. I tell my students that I have certain rules and regulations I am expected to follow and that when I took this job (teaching) that I made an agreement when I was hired w/ the administration. That agreement was that I would do my best to adhere to and enforce thier rules regs and expectations and in exchange I would get a paycheck, benefits and the opportunity to keep my job! I… >>>

Changing Teaching Styles

Have just completed ED104 and though I have taught for many years have to agree that the course still challenged me enough to keep my interest. Am finding it hard to change my teaching style to challenge the younger students now days so hope these courses will help and encourage me to try some new teachniques.
